feeling violated... but it could be worse!

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Because we live in the middle of no-where, when we make a trip to town for an appointment, we try to gather errands and appointments together to save gas....

So -
@ 1:30 - had an appointment at the pain clinic for 4 more trigger shots in my shoulders
@ 2:15 - blood test (fasting... I was so glad to be able to take a drink of my diet coke! They allow water and coffee... why not diet, caffene-free coke?
@ 3:00 (though they got me in earlier!) - my first mammogram... I've heard stories about it hurting so bad, and others saying that it didn't hurt at all... I was relieved that my experience was the later!

Although I felt violated (poked, blood sucked, and squished) - I am also aware that it could have been worse... a vaginal exam, a colonoscopy, etc., etc., etc...

Sitting at the hospital, waiting for my hubby to pick me up, watching people go and come, reminded me that they all have stories... some may be dealing with serious health issues, others may be dealing with a spouse or child with a terminal disease...

Yes - as a friend who works in radiology reminds me when my adult kids do something very foolish (as her adult children have also done)- with adult size consequences - that it could always be worse. She sees people with terminal diseases and those very injured in accidents, etc., etc...

Anyway...
- water - 3 cups! - yes... need to get in more tomorrow!
- tracked - on track or below except sodium (which was high...)
- steps - more, but not great...

A new day tomorrow!
Have a great week everyone!

emoticon You made it through all your tests! I like to people watch too, and I always wonder what is going on in their lives, and if God is a part of their life. It still boggles my mind that with all the billions of people on this earth, that God knows each and everyone of them intimately!
I hope and pray that all your test come back okay!

I will be going to the pain clinic tomorrow. I think he will be working on my back, but neck and shoulders may also be involved. You nailed it saying you feel somewhat violated, but for sure the other tests would be more personal.

I hope the shots and prodding will ease some pain for you. I ask God to give comfort from pain. emoticon

emoticon You made it through the mamo. Sometimes they do pinch but I think it has to do with the size of your breasts. Good job done.

    For a giggle:
Here's how to "practice" for a mammogram.
1)Put a set of metal bookends in the freezer for several hours. Remove them and smash them against your breast.
    2) Lie down by the family van with your breast at the tire. Have your husband drive over it.
