I can do it myself!

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Kept busy with baby Benjamin today as hubby was out of the house almost all day!

Baby's personality is sure becoming evident... he's strong willed like his mama! Sometimes he wakes up crying and does NOT want comforted in any way, shape, or form! He evidently works through it - especially if we can distract him. He's also REALLY independent. Most of our meal-time struggles come from him wanting not only to feed himself, but also wants the whole container... i.e. cracker sleeve (we've seen what he does with a couple of crackers left in a sleeve - he's not getting another one!) - and wants to spoon/fork feed himself, whether he can or not! How this usually plays out is that he has to say please (our own hand signal for please) before I'll give him his food when he's throwing a temper tantrum, and until he's ready, he hides his hands tucked down under the high chair tray, kind of behind him. So, with distraction, he eventually is ready to say please and off we go with a messy, messy meal. :)

And such is our sin nature, eh? "I can do it myself, God!" "I don't need help!" then, when we're way over our heads, "God, HELP!" . . . uh-huh....

Anyway -
- tracked: way below calories, but my sodium is way over (long story of food choices today)
- 2 cups water... yeah, I know...
- not much in steps....

Tomorrow CONTINUES to be a NEW DAY!
I'm NOT giving up even when I continue to make so little progress...

Persevering is 3/4 of the battle! I am glad you are hanging in here. It often takes time for everything to fall into place.

    At least you are trying!

Remember, not one of us human beings is perfect. We just keep trying.

    You got that right!
My DD and I laugh to ourselves when the father of her children says of their son that he always gets into trouble because he wants to do things his way - because the father is the exact same way. Shel
