Need Weekend Encouragement

Hi there! As stated in previous blogs, I'm doing zumba classes "with" my sister on each of our Wii (over skype). Well, we've completed our first week of the 45 min Intermediate Class 1 on Tuesday and are now on the 45 min Intermediate Class 2 this week. 2 more (wii) days and we'll be on class 3. We're doing great.

1 problem I have though. Sat & Sun we don't do Zumba (we "rest" because she works most weekends). We scheduled to zumba only Mon - Fri. Last week, I did do a 20 min intermediate class on Sat. on my own ... But, Sunday I didn't do too well ... caught myself almost making poor choices and I just wanted to work out just for thinking about messing up. I didn't end up working out (since the weekends are our rest days) ... well, I walked a little bit. Not much though.

Anyway. I just have this feeling I won't do good this weekend. Especially since I am going to my niece's 3rd year birthday party tomorrow. I just pray I am so much stronger than I feel I am. I don't like this feeling I have that I am going to disappoint myself. I weigh in once a week and my weigh in's are Mondays. Probably another reason I am feeling this way. Fear of weight gain before my weigh in.

I really hope and pray I will do great this weekend. Gonna pray long and hard for God to keep me strong and focused. :)

    you did zumba 6 times last week, which is worth being proud of. rest days are necessary for muscle recovery. i understand that celebrations can be a temptation to over indulge, but if you had one reasonably sized piece of cake that would not be "bad." give yourself a break and appreciate progress without expecting perfection. best wishes for a happy weigh in on monday.

    Good morning! First off, congrats on doing zumba; it's super fun!! I think it's normal to want to take a day off from fitness; you did zumba 6 days in a row this week! You may just need a bit of variation in your fitness to keep it different on week-ends. Also, don't think about how "bad" you would do; you can't do bad when you do fitness (except if you have bad form or don't stretch I guess); you're helping your body and mind get healthier! and walking is definitely a type of fitness; I hope you clocked that in to your fitness tab here on SP!! Perhaps you could get yourself a pedometer too; it might help you on the days that you don't feel motivated; my pedometer didn't cost much (around $20 from walmart) and it tells me the speed at which I am walking which helps me clock it into the fitness tab here on SP.

    As for the bday party, I know how you are feeling! My brother's birthday was Thursday and we are having the party this week-end and I am so worried about taking 2 or 3 or more... slices of cake...I haven't had cake in so long!

    Let's leave it in His hands and He will help us overcome the temptation of taking more!
