Another new start

Sunday, September 29, 2013

I had an entry almost 1/2 typed out a few days ago...but because I'm on my iPad and it doesn't seem like SparkPeople is too overly mobile friendly I lost the whole thing!!! I was highly irritated and upset and just said forget it - I'd do it again later. emoticon

Which ironically is a lot like what I do with my weight loss and fitness. I'll start with the healthy eating and getting in some exercise and then as soon as I lose that momentum or start to feel as if its - no I should say as if I'M not worth the hassle I stop. This is something I really want to try to change. NOW! emoticon

To help me with that, I am going to start blogging and/or journaling again - to keep myself accountable since hopefully I will have people reading it!! Or maybe just posting a link in my BLC chat thread or *GASP* on Facebook! Facebook would certainly be going out of my comfort zone as a LOT of people on there have no idea what I think or deal with...maybe that's what I need though! emoticon I was on Pinterest recently and found a lot of neat ideas for blogging or journaling so might as well put the hours I spent looking through page upon page of Pinterest to good use!!

Another thing to help me on this journey I'm going to try is having an actual planner to write times to exercise, write, food plan, etc. I am going that with it right there in black & white (or whatever color I feel like writing I that day!!) I will actually do it!! AND again while on Pinterest I found some neat planner ideas - which led me to a planner addicts Facebook group! emoticon so many good & creative ideas! And so much I see that I want!! LOL! I'll admit I am an office store junky - I can not go into Staples and just walk out with the thing I went in for...it has to be about 5 extra on top of it!!

Something that I have never done but read about a lot of others doing is meal planning. I am a fly by the seat of my pants kinda person when it comes to figuring out what we are eating for dinner. BUT because I'm limited on money to just go out & buy whatever AND I love to coupon also(that could be a subject for a whole entry in and of itself!!) I figured I should try meal planning. I have an app that you can input ingredients into and it will come up with meals to make. So figured I'd get a list of some if the thing is already have on hand and plug them in and see what meals come up! Then ONCE again there is always Pinterest also! Lots of great recipes on Pinterest...shoot lots of great recipes I've already pinned and have never made! emoticon

Fitness....well I'm kinda limited on that right now as my back has been out, but is feeling much better so am planning on starting up again this week hopefully. Just to see how m back reacts and I have no pain or discomfort then will continue on! What I would LIKE to do is get up before work and hit the gym because I fell SOOOOO much better when I did that! emoticon however with school back I'm I may have to settle for evenings so that I can make sure my daughter gets up and going in the mornings! But I plan to start my waking back up again - whether it be on a treadmill or outside - and possibly even trying to run again. I'm also going to incorporate strength training in too as I officially have my own hand weights now! emoticon I'm the BLC challenge anyway and strength training is part of the points earned this go around...they even have exercises picked out that you can do so there is absolutely NO reason why I can't!

Well is my plan for yet another start in my long hard journey! I think I might even get a motivational board set up in my little office space I set up just to help keep me going!!

**please excuse any typos/mistakes as trying to type this on an iPad is quite a treat!!**

You are on the right track. On the nutritional tracker of Spark People you can track your food and at the bottom there is a button to click for journal. Which would be way less cumbersome and it would all be in the same place. Also, have you turned on your meal planner with SP. I love this. If you don't like what is listed, just click on it and a whole page of equal value foods come up, pick one you want to substitute and click on it. It will automatically go into your nutritional tracker. At first it was hard, but now I love it.

Have you looked at SP videos? I know there are videos to do in a chair because I used them after I had major surgery in April 2013 and was out for 7 weeks. Take a look at them...I think you'll like what you see.
