3rd Anniversary on Sparkpeople
Sunday, January 19, 2014
Today is the anniversary of the day I signed up for Sparkpeople. Three years later I have lost 62 pounds, three pant sizes and several inches from various parts of my body. I am so grateful for all the support from other Sparkers. I don't have a lot of time to post replies and blogs, but I "lurk" and read a lot of what you share.
What I have noticed is how much easier it is to move. My knees and hips don't ache nearly as much. I can actually shovel my own snow. Before I hired it done because I couldn't do it. I don't use nearly as many antacids as before. I can walk easier and longer.
Anyone who has been my friend for any period of time knows about my "aversion" to exercise. I sound like a broken record on that subject. I still haven't figured it out but I'm working on it. My sister and I joined a fitness center that has a swimming pool and several classes for aquacise. So we will try that. I'm not really goal orientated but concentrating on exercising is my focus for this year.
I have many wonderful people that support me both on this website and off. My sister, nieces, nephew and friends have been wonderfully supportive and encouraging. My spark friends who put up with my long periods of silence, thank you. I draw from encouragement each post you make even if it doesn't seem like I'm there.
I think my greatest achievement has been not the 62 pounds I've lost, but the simple realization that this is for life and I haven't and won't give up. This is not a diet, it is a life long commitment and I'm in it for the long haul.
Thank to each of you for continued support, it is appreciated.
Mary
