savor each day

February 17th...... the life of a friend...... my doggie's groomer, Brandon...... was almost taken in a horrific explosion in his mobile grooming trailer..... I remember the panic I felt when I heard of the explosion..... I hoped it wasn't him..... when I heard reports of severe burns..... flown by life lion to a burn center..... I prayed he'd survive....

He has survived... and he has horrific burns to his head, face, hands....... but with lots of prayer from everyone and skilled physician's at the burn center.... he's healing and he's healing faster than what they expected him to heal......

I've known him for many many years..... he's a nice family man..... with 3 young children.... 2 little boys and a baby girl..... he works hard to support his family and he really cares for the dogs he grooms.... he does a really good job of listening to his customers and doing what they ask for their furbabies.... just an all around good guy.......

So without a doubt I knew I had to help him........ and while I make doggie fascinators ( bows with some tulle and feathers) I never made them to sell until now....... so I am making up "Bows to benefit Brandon" and selling them to give him and his family half of the money I get for the bows..... I've been able to give him a little money so far and figure even if he needs it for gas back and forth to the hospital it has to help.......

I needed to write about this more........... it's on my mind and I just can't imagine what he's had to go thru and his wife and kids have gone thru since his accident..... and he could have been taken in the blink of an eye leaving his family without a husband/father.....

so ...... please don't take each day for granted...... say " I love you" often..... and make sure you do things that you love doing..... if it's reading a book or a walk in the park.. listening to some music..... just do something for yourself ..... you just never know........

I can't wait to see him in-person again just so I know he's doing ok........ I know lots of people have horrific accidents and lots of people die in them.......... but because I know Brandon personally it has really touched me and made me think of just how quick things happen beyond our control....... and who will be there in that time? as I said it's just weighed heavy on my mind.........
