Day 26 Low Carb
Monday, June 23, 2014
I'm still low carb but have had a couple of slip ups in my weight loss. I put these down to over indulging on high fat foods and trying too many of the Atkins indulgences at once!
I'm back on track again and am feeling good. I am enjoying a variety of proteins and fats and am feeling mostly satisfied.
Today I am feeling hungry - I think... I am not sure if it is actual real hunger... I had a coffee which helped me through for a while but I'm not sure if this is hunger or just a side effect of my aching back.
This weekend I bought myself some good Kettlebells and have ordered a couple of DVDs for training with them and other weights. My core weakness, well, it's feebleness really... I believe is the main reason for my bad back. I am hoping to start working on strengthening my core which will help to strengthen my back and also hopefully reduce the belly bulge too! I hope to get more active and start getting up earlier in the morning to do a workout before I go to work. Hopefully the DVDs will arrive quickly and I can use them to do a kettlebell workout most mornings. I will start looking for one that I can try before they arrive.
I also ordered another Leslie Sansone DVD as I find that she is really motivational. I will set my alarm now to get up 30 minutes earlier tomorrow - and try to do a 2 miler with her in the morning! I think I will try to do one tonight when I get home - although Gwenna always hogs the TV these days playing on the Wii!
I'm still mainly in the "Induction phase" of Atkins but I have added in strawberries a couple of days. Yesterday I really enjoyed some strawberries with heavy whipping cream for dessert. I have been tracking on and off and I definitely notice that when I track I see results and when I don't track, there are no losses on the scale.
I have been tracking my food using Myfitnesspal and have amended my nutrition goals to try to fit what they should be to get 20g net carbs per day. I am not really too worried about the calories but am trying to stick to around 1600 per day, more if I exercise. I'm finding it a useful tool - just for monitoring my carb intake.
My short term goal is to get to 185 before my vacation in 19 days. I am just under 4lbs away from that mini-goal. I would love to smash it out of the water!
Today I weighed in at 188.6, which is a little less than Thurs morning. I was away at our trailer for the weekend and didn't track as well as I should have. I will be away at our trailer again from Thurs this coming weekend too. I will have to be careful and keep track of what I am eating and drinking.
I have definitely stopped the mindless snacking which I do think was one of my big problems. This means that my over calorie intake, even now I am eating way more fat, is lower than before. And I am not eating empty carb calories.
I added alfafa sprouts to my salad today. Go nutrients!
