Ever have one of those days? You know, the kind of day where you keep wondering "When is it going to end?"
Well, Monday (go figure!) was like that for us.
1. Fiance's brother in hospital for chest
pains. He's 45. We got the call at 12:30 a.m. and didn't get a lot of sleep
. This was how our day began. They may have to put in a stent (sp?). We haven't heard any more on how he's doing since David (fiance') left hospital yesterday morning.
2. Car overheats on way to daycare. Dependent on 1 vehicle for daycare and 2 workers/jobs. This involves some sitting
around and waiting since our schedules are off by 30 minutes to 1 hour. This is the vehicle we just got back from the shop about a week ago for the same issue. Yes! We just got it fixed! No issues with it last week. But now it's overheating/leaking coolant. No fun on our end with this one. Guess the time for a new vehicle
arrived sooner than expected.
3. Short-handed/staffed at work. Find out when I arrive
walking from the daycare. It's only a 10 to 15 minute walk. However it gets a little crazy with people requesting service calls and helping in the office. It was a little busy yesterday.
4. Inventory counts WAY off!
I'm the Inventory Control person. My counts keep coming up way off. Sometimes as much as +/-20 or +/-50. It's not reflecting too well on me. I think the relief person wasn't trained enough to get a full grasp, or that they were trained to just fudge it. The latter seems to be the general consensus. Anyway, I'm constantly having to run
around and make corrections/adjustments. When we're shorthanded, it's more difficult to finish my counts.
So, I had about 4 hours sleep yesterday and was running around at times like a "chicken
with my head cut off". How fun. At least I know I got some exercise. However the stress of my day might have countered that.
Well, today is a new day, and yesterday is behind me. At least my laundry pile is more like a molehill compared to yesterday's mountain. I feel much better having vented.
