Day two of the rest of my life

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

Have gone through some trials over the last year, found out my now ex was cheating, had a total emotional breakdown and hospitalisation, separation, two separate surgeries plus the usual assorted rubbish that goes on in life.

I'd been worrying about how I was going to cope with the anniversaries of a lot of the bad things coming up starting in a few days, but then had a mindset change.

I'm proud of the fact that I've survived all these things. I'm proud that I'm stronger now than I have been for several years. I'm proud that I'm well on the way to overcoming the low self esteem that the last few years had ground into me. I'm proud that I'm taking responsibility for improving my life again.

I started recording my food etc yesterday, today is my first day of non-smoking since I started again last December. I figured best to combine my healthy lifestyle changes so I won't have the excuses that I've hidden behind for so long.

I'm proud of myself.

First off, I love the smile I see in the 'old you' photo. Second, you are his loss. May your new journey bring great rewards.

I need to join you on the quitting smoking thing.

Congratulation on quitting smoking. I smoked for 40 years and quit in Jan 2009. Best thing that I ever did.

Also a great thing that you are tracking your food. I find it keeps me accountable.

I wish you the best in this, your new start. You can do this!
