And she never gave up.............

I had to quit my 2 fave meals (see the 2 blogs below) after emergency dental (with jaw) surgery left me with fewer chewing teeth, and a painful jaw.
It was just as well. My weight had stalled. again. No weight loss with my 2 fave meals a day. Go figure!
Of course I felt defeated.
But in the meantime one of my daughters was beginning to eat/cook paleo. I had spent the last 2 years begging her to eat low carb with me! She "just can't" do what I do (wink-wink) so this is as close as she'd go! LOL! We've spent the last 2 months competing over who could find the best recipes!
My daughter and her husband come every Friday for our "Family Friday Dinners". The dinners used to be about me trying to get them to eat Low Carb, High Fat. Now the dinners are about who can prepare the coolest, freshest, tastiest, real, organic food! And I admit, she spiralizes a mean zucchini. :o) I'm not that talented! But I can bake an organic apple (with only ground walnuts and plain cinnamon) that makes her hubby swear I put brown sugar in it! LOL!
Spring is here and higher temps fop me mean fluid retention. Even with my "water pill". With water retention comes inflammation. The pain stinks. With my MS I've really been struggling to exercise. I bought a folding stationary bike. But it's not going well. If I can just get my weight down.........hmmm.......anothe
r 20 pounds. I think I can use it like I want. Walking is out- I'm falling more.
Of course I never give up! NEVER! Even if I die fat- they'll say at my eulogy- "And she never gave up!"
So I decided to try fasting. Something I've always wanted to do. Something I've tried but not been able to figure out. So I got the book- "The 5:2 Fast". I had seen the documentary and liked Dr Mosley. My first day I tried the 5:2 fast I didn't complete it. I like that Dr Mosley says there's always tomorrow! :o) He's very positive! I went to his website and saw another type of fasting called 8:16. You can even make up your own fasting regime. But I liked 8:16 because I work nights. So I fast 16 hours in one day and eat 8 hours. Well not all 8 hours LOL! That's my eating "window".
So far I really like it. It's very easy for me, and do-able. At first I was getting really hungry after the fast and worried that I'd just over eat. But after a few tries, if I got hungry, I was able to eat just enough for the hunger to leave. phew!
Will it work? For now I think it is. It certainly can't hurt! I'm eating LC/HF, staying on plan and adding fasting.
The important point is I'm NEVER giving up!
So don't you give up either! ;o)
