Whew! I can't believe another week has already flown by! It was a great week though so I won't complain too much! Sometimes I just wish that time would slow down just a bit.
So after posting my blog last week I realized that I failed to talk about one very important detail: a 6.5 pound weight loss! Yep! That's right! While I am sure some of this was water weight, it still felt good to see some very solid results right away. Unfortunately, I was not quite as fortunate this past week and just maintained. However, I am not going to let that get me down. I figure that if I continue to work hard and stay on track another loss will be along soon!
This past week I was reminded of just how fabulous it feels to be taking care of yourself and making time for workouts! Even though I was very tired and working hard to stay on track and get in my workouts, I still felt FABULOUS! It's hard to put into words really. Even though I was making time every day for my workouts, assuming that would mean that I was able to fit less into my day, the opposite was actually true. I fit more in to my daily schedule! I actually felt like tackling chores when I got home in the evenings. I started thinking about how I AM WORTH the investment of time in myself and the things that are important to me! Suddenly cleaning the house became something that I was doing because I want a clean house, I WANT a beautiful house, instead of just another dreaded chore. I found myself saying "yes" to my workouts and "no" to foods I didn't need to eat because I needed to stay with my plan and achieve things for myself! I still have a long ways to go in so many areas, but the feeling last week, the glimpse of living a powerful life, was pretty awesome!! I even planned and cooked a few meals this week. I think my hubby was pretty surprised to come home to a crockpot simmering away the other night!
And apparently I am looking more fabulous too. My boss was getting all nosey and trying to figure out what my plans were today because I ".......dressed much nicer than usual today". Sheesh! I am pretty sure he was afraid I was headed to a interview or something. Nope! My outfit just happens to be nice today. That might be a result of starting to feel better about myself, or it might be a result of a lucky choice in clothes today. (Although looking for a new job is tempting right now... subject for a whole long blog...)
I have also enjoyed putting together cute workout outfits this past week! I am slightly addicted to buying workout clothes (it is nearly impossible for me to pass a good sale up :) ) so I own a ton of them. Ironically I don't own a ton of running shoes, but the clothes I have covered! Anyway, I digress! I have the clothes, but usually just thrown on whatever. This past week I have had fun coming up with super cute combinations! I can't wait to be smaller so my outfits look even better! Because let's face it. Workout clothes look best on a fit body! End of story!
So yeah, as you can see, it has been a good week! Please help me remember this always! Whenever I do get tired or tempted to slack off, please remind me how good it feels to be taking care of myself!
And in a way, I can really see how very depressed I have been the past year or so. I have been hanging on by a thread, just getting through the day, not actually living. I never really fully saw it before, but the signs are definitely there.
And without further commentary, here is my report on weekly goals:
~Blog weekly ~
Yep! Doing it!!
~Track food 90% of the time - including weekends~
I am close on this one but need to work a little more on weekends.
~Focus on a healthy, high protein, high freggie diet
Pretty good here. I need to come up with a better way of measuring this, but I am definitely getting in the fruits and veggies!
~500 fitness minutes a week with good variety including cardio and ST~
505 minutes for the week! It was hard to get in the last 35 minutes on Saturday, but I got it done! Go me!
~1 mile a day! Run at least one mile per day, every day~
Nailed it!
~7000 steps per day ~
Making progress here! Last Tuesday and Wednesday were about 500 steps short. Sunday was a little more off, but still so much better than my weekend steps counts used to be so progress has been made!
~Add in some fun fitness activities as able ~ Still not making it happen here... unless you count the fact that a good friend teaches both my Zumba and Power Bar classes and it is always good to see her twice a week!
~Happiness journal - 3 things to be grateful for every week ~
Really need to work on this one!
I managed to catch a few minutes of sunny day for a run on Thursday!
I'm officially worn out! However, I just finished my fitness minutes goal for the week!
