I'm sure lots of you have read the article about the former contestants and the weight they have gained back. The sad reality is that rapid weight loss does a real number on your metabolism. The contestants they studied showed a dramatic drop in their calorie burn. Close to 500 calories a day. So no wonder they gained weight back. They would have to eat a restricted diet to just not gain.
Losing 1/2 pound a week might sound like a snail's pace but in years to come you could maintain your weight loss on a normal diet. I'm so happy that my metabolism is chugging along and I can eat pretty much without gaining.
But then there was the $250,000. Some people might be willing to trade eating for the rest of your life for that.
