Lots to be thankful for today...

OK, let me preface this by saying EVERY DAY is a day to be thankful for. Having said that, today is just one for me to be even more thankful for.

- One year ago today my dad joined my mom in the afterlife. While some might question why I'd be thankful for this, I've chosen to think about all the great things my dad did for me as opposed to the negatives of someone dying. Plus, I just know down deep he so wanted to be together with my mom, and I am glad he was able to do this.

- Thirty four years ago my son was born. And it goes without saying that I am so proud of the man he has become. Hasn't always been a smooth road (whose is?), but I'm very happy that things have worked out well.

- And I'm thankful that I am gainfully employed. A year ago I was "retired" (not by choice), but thankfully people in my past kept an eye out for me and that converted back into a job last July. At the same time, maybe it was a good thing that I was "retired" last year so I could be with my dad. Things happen for a reason.

Yes, I am thankful!
