Having a hard time getting past the first 10%

Saturday, July 23, 2016

My weight climbed to pretty near an all-time high this winter and my blood sugar began to approach the diabetes level. So I changed my diet. (I didn't go on a diet. I changed my diet.)

I joined SP and started tracking my food and exercise about 5 months ago. Since then I've lost a little more than 10% of my previous weight.

I'd like to lose another 10% but my motivation seems to be wavering. It is not just that I've hit a plateau. I've hit a motivation block.

My downfall is a late-night craving for starchy carbohydrates and sweets. I am less successful at resisting the cravings than I had been for the past months.

Anybody have any advice about how to stay motivated for the next 10%?

Remind yourself why you started in the first place. Diabetes has all kinds of complications you do not want.
