I feel defeated a lot of the time, but I tell myself that when I get side tracked and overeat or eat the wrong foods, I am making these healthy changes for the rest of my life.

I try not to measure my efforts by one day or one week or one month, even.

I've found it's a mental mindset! I'm doing this for the rest of my life, and I am allowed to have a slip up, but I get back up again, dust myself off, and continue on.

We're all a work in progress! We're never at our final destination as long as we're alive, and I keep telling myself that.

I've found that standing in front of a mirror and telling myself positive things like I love myself, God loves me, I'm worth the changes and hard work I'm putting in, I can do this, etc. it helps a whole lot. At first I had to do it several times in a day, but it's gradually decreased over the years. Then when I start feeling defeated again, I up the pep talks again.
