The Big Fat Lie We've Believed
Monday, April 17, 2017
How many times do we talk down to ourselves? We've been brainwashed! I think part of it is from the media: Hollywood, magazines, our "friends", or well-meaning family members, but finally it doesn't matter who or what or why we have developed these feelings. Somehow we've gotten it into our heads that we're lesser people if we aren't skinny, pretty, talented, or whatever, just fill in the blank. There's a million reasons we don't feel like we're worth it. But you know what? That's a BIG FAT LIE!
I'm going to start talking UP to myself! These are the things I'm going to start telling myself, every day if I have to! I'll probably think of more as time goes on, and if you have a few of your own, please feel free to add them! It's for you, after all!
I am a child of God
God loves me
I love me
I am worth the effort it takes to get back into shape and eat right
Even if I'm not thin, gorgeous or whatever Hollywood or other people consider beautiful these days, I AM who God made me to be and I am going to get healthier and feel better!
I am making these changes for the rest of my life
Don't let other peoples' negative thoughts or words or actions bring me down
I'm done being a victim of these negative thoughts that have somehow become my own. No longer! They aren't mine any longer and I'm kicking them to the curb and putting some new , positive thoughts in their place.
Who's with me? Let's do this!!!
