Our favorite sub species of homo sapiens is one we call the Garage People. There is a couple (probably retirement age, but not what I'd call elderly) on our block who (in nice weather) will move their vehicles out of their garage and set up comfy patio furniture a couple feet inside the open doorway so that they can sit and observe the street. Mike and I are tickled to death that they will go to all that trouble to be outside without actually being outside. I have also learned that it is possible to buy a screen the full size of the garage door to keep insects out.
Mike and I went on a walk today to look for this year's crop of Garage People. Wanted to go early enough to avoid the worst of the heat. It seems to bother me more this year than in the past. I have no idea whether that is due to age, weight or one of the prescriptions I take. We were out for only about 30 minutes, but by then I was huffing and puffing like crazy. We had decided not to go further afield in order to avoid wasting time getting to a place and having to walk in a hotter part of the day, but I have decided that it is also a shame to drive an hour to walk 30 minutes. I hate the fact that I am so out of shape,
It could well become a vicious cycle because I also hate the thought of dressing for walking and then having to drive 20 minutes or so to go to the gym to walk the treadmill for 30 minutes, and since I don't know if my health is one of the contributing factors I am letting my laziness have full rein. Not good, but there it is.
I'd love to own this - not for the garage, though.
If you have been following me on WW long enough you might recognize that I have posted about Garage People before. I'm not above recycling every now and then. :)
