Is it time to step away from the scale?

I just read an article about knowing it's time to step away from the scale. I may be at that point. I get up every morning (almost every) and strip down to nothing… Even the Fitbit comes off. If the scale is not going in a downward direction, I feel discouraged. I know it shouldn't be that way because weight does fluctuate from day to day. There have been days recently when I will weigh again after coming home from the gym. Perhaps, the scale is holding too much power.. I recently told a friend, who is trying to lose weight as well, to take her measurements because she may feel more encouraged with that measure. I need to take my own advice. I have taken my measurements and have felt encouraged by the amount of inches lost I need to let go of the number on the scale. I have seen results, not from the scale, but from other measures.. I feel more energetic, I am doing things that I was unable to do a month ago, I have lost several inches, I am making better food choices (eating 3 to 5 servings of vegetable almost every day) , drinking eight glasses of water or more (almost every day)… and the scale is moving (even if it's not as quickly as I would like).
