Carrying on day 2

Saturday, March 24, 2018

Yesterday, I learned, check the calories of unknown foods BEFORE you eat them ! Calories from ju jubes add up quickly. Wow ! I gave away the rest, after I did my tracker. 700 calorie snacks are a day buster.
Still motivated like crazy today. Seems the more I participate on Spark, the more I get motivated. Who knew?Happy to be here and just alive. Happy to be Not Smoking!
My goals today are:

1. track everything I plan to eat before I eat it

2. read some motivational stories on SPark

3. learn how to load pictures to my photo gallery. Things that bring me joy.

4. take that tiny walk to the end of the road, literally.

I caaan do these things easily within my day.I thought I would tell you about our project this past winter and how she/he is coming along. It is about a young coyote. More to come.

Enjoy your day, come what may!

Gini

Tracking is so important! I learned that the hard way, too. I can't wait to hear the story about the coyote. Living on the back of a forest sounds so peaceful and wonderful... nature is such a gift. I hope that walk went well!

I log my meals in the morning, then if something needs changing it isn't a big deal. Just keep on and you will find what works best for you. emoticon emoticon

    P. S. What I've finally learned about snacking is that it consumed my thoughts about what it could be, how many cals, how can I control it, when I can I eat next, how much. Too much anxiety. So I finally decided that MOST days, no snacks or mini meals as some may call it. I'm much better having that granola bar, mini pack m and Ms, banana, yogurt cup, etc... At the end of a meal and not worry what will be in 2-3 hours because in 5 hours I will have a very full plate of food. Lol whatever works huh

HI there! The most important thing is that you are restarting because that means you are doing some things to promote yourself! Never had to quit smoking by I know from others it's a tough one, but sooooo important! Good job! I am an avid walker...for physical health and mental health.

Love my outdoor walks. Do I ALWAYS feel like doing it? No. Do I ever wished I didn't when I do, do it? Way, NOOOO! Best thing I ever do/did for myself. So get out there. It does feel great in so many ways.

I'm a tracker, sometimes before, sometimes after, sometimes both. It works for me. I save my treat/snack/indulgence/whatever one may call it for evening only. I often put in my tracker first then work my days cals around it. I keep it the same about 90% of the time because I can control it. 1.5 serving which is a small serving of ice cream. Some evenings I add fruit to eat to get in my second fruit serving of the day. I call it strategic eating. It takes diligence. Maybe you could count out your portion of Jujubies and incorporate them into your day...just an idea.

Best wishes to you and keep Sparking!

Hey Gini, good to see you back and ready to make a difference but the best news of all is that you are not smoking !!!! That will make the biggest difference in your health so just make it thru each day and you will continue to be a success.

As you begin each day it is important to get dressed - out of your night clothes and into something that you can get out and make that short walk to the end of the road. Every day is a new start and you are blessed to get it so make good use of it. You are never guaranteed another !!! Small goals is the best way to start and make a difference. I can attest to that !!! I started my steps in Sept with an old Fitbit and 5 minutes and now I am up to 13ooo steps a day. So it can be done but it takes time, just like everything else. Be patient but work at it a little at a time and you too will be seeing results before you even know it.

Keep in touch Gini I am here every day most days morning and evening. Make SP a part of your everyday and you will stay motivated and accountable. Remember you are in control of how you live healthy.

Congrats on your renewed commitment to make a difference in your life. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
