Week 4 - I'm exhausted!
Monday, May 14, 2018
So last week was my fullest run week thus far. I only missed one XT workout last week, and I sorta accidentally got it in anyhow. I did miss my recovery run yesterday thanks to being surprised by my kid for Mother's Day (so I'm not mad about that!).
Monday - ST at the gym; I'm lifting heavy again. I'm keeping things easier on my legs and focusing mostly on my core and upper body in these sessions. I throw in a little leg work but I don't want to overwork them. Biggest excitement of the day? 100 pound pulldowns on the cable pulldown machine and 85 pounds on the cable row! I can't wait to see what I get into tonight!
Tuesday - 4.09 miles averaging 12:26 min/mi
Wednesday - This was the workout I meant to skip and sorta happened anyhow. My routine is JUST a running plan. It calls for 4 days running and 3 days off but I've put in 2 XT days when I do whatever I want that's NOT running. I thought I was going to skip this since I had an afternoon planned of fishing with my boyfriend...but then that night we had to pull out a lot of BIG items (think ping-pong table and recliner and futon) from the basement to put in our garbage for our town's "spring cleanup" when they'll pick up just about anything from the curb, so...yea, I got in a workout.
Thursday - 3.72 miles at 12:33 min/mi. I had some issues and at around mile 3.5 I had to go to the bathroom and power-walked the rest of the way home so I could make it. It wasn't the 4 miles I was set for, I had to walk a LOT more than I thought, I was exhausted and it was really hard that night, but I got close and I handled it.
Friday - OFF (I needed that! *lol*)
Saturday - 5.10 miles at 12:11 min/mi pace. I did it! I ran 5 miles!
Sunday - Like I said, I didn't get my 3 mile recovery run in. After church, my son surprised me by driving me to lunch, paying for lunch, buying me donuts for later and then driving me home. I had about an hour to get the house cleaned up a bit and make dinner for the OTHER son to come over for our weekly Sunday dinners. And about an hour after he met is when boyfriend finally got home and I was FIGHTING to stay awake.
Week 3 recap: I'm exhausted but I'm running more and better than ever. I'm losing ZERO pounds and I don't know whether to even care or not. Part of me thinks if I got more strict about my diet maybe I could drop this last 10 pounds and part of me keeps saying, "ONE THING AT A TIME, GIRL!"
So week 4 starts today. It's a repeat of last week so I'm not worried. I just want to get all my mileage in each time AND get every single workout in this week. So last week, only better.
