Thursday, and what are you about?

Thursday, June 14, 2018

Yes, it is Thursday, can't think of a thing that Thursday is noted for. Except one day closer to the weekend that most people cherish. There is Moody Monday, you know back to work, Taco Tuesday, Hump Day Wednesday, TGIF, and then the blessed weekend. But what is Thursday? lol Just a mind bender. hahahah

Hubby and BIL are off doing farm business, getting Larry name off all the Govt. stuff and insurances, and BIL name on it. Hope they get it all done this morning, anyway get things started. This will probably take a few weeks to get everything settled. It's not just walking out the door and you are done. Nope lots of things to get settled and transferred, and then there is the leases to breaks, and then make new ones.. Hopefully we are all done by Fall.

The MISSIONS are working out great, thanks buddy, and I am getting things done. One thing it helped with is the fact that I don't think I will be chalk painting the end tables and coffee table, although it would be wonderful, it is just more than I can handle. Might just paint then, and not go to all the work of the chalk paint layers. I don't know yet, but right now with the dizzies and such, I am glad I just tackled that little shelf. It does look nice, but it is more work than I thought it would be for a 75 year old broad. Even IF, and a big IF, I could get hubby to help.

Had a storm roll thru this morning at 4 am, and just noisy and windy, and very little rain, maybe enough to wet patio, but not enough to really do any good. The only damage was that the wind blew off 2 pedals off my whirley-gig, in the flower bed, did find one, but donT see hide nor hair of the other one, so that mean Finny That. Whirley-gig won't work with one pedal missing. But the light show, and the thunder were marvelous, I do like a good storm, just wish it wasn't at night when I can watch those beautiful clouds. I know, I am a little warped liking storms.

Well, I have to GET at it and GET at that book work again today. And that is about it. So you all take care and have your own GET day. Linda

It never ends does it? Being retired will be busier than when you were farming full time. Time just passes by so quickly. Hope all goes well getting everything settled. Take care.

You can't live in Iowa and not be obsessed with storms emoticon . We were in Des Moines this morning and the clouds got freaky, but it just poured. Luckily nothing severe. I'm glad that you are getting missions done again. Enjoy the rest of your day!

I love storms too. I love to see the dark black clouds rolling and coming nearer and nearer. I love to feel the wind shift and the temperatures drop quickly. And then finally, I love the smells of storms. It can be a dirt smell, or flowers as they whip in the wind, or the metallic/salty smell of hail, or the fresh smell of rain. There are many emotions that a person can experience during a storm and I love to experience them all.

Still no rain here either, but we keep hoping, just like you! Good luck to Larry as he untangles the paperwork to get the official status of retired!

I used to sit on the side porch at my parents house and watch them come across the hills and lake. Loved the wind and wet and the rain smell.
    You have a good day.

We have Thirsty Thursdays here... Happy Hour offers drinks at half price. (5 to 6pm.) The funniest one is hump-day. I always thought folks liked their humps Saturday night. emoticon emoticon

I enjoy a good storm too - as long as it's a thunderstorm and not something worse! I feel safe and secure inside - and I love taking a nap while listening to the rain.

emoticon My college dorm was on the 7th floor oceanside, and I loved watching storms over the ocean at night, one of my best memories along with watching rainbows over the ocean. We've had dark stormy clouds build up right on top of us this week--and then miss us completely. Just as well; I would have been so disappointed if the night blooming buds had been damaged. Yes, missions buddy, this is good. I'm looking forward to a more productive evening tonight. Last night I was good for nothing but rest. Good thing you tried your paint project out on the shelf first. I'm all for low effort high results projects. Wish I could interest husband in doing to our garage what we did to my mom's. Not likely!
