My 11th Sparkaversary

Friday, July 06, 2018

I joined SparkPeople in July 2007 after a recommendation from a Nutritionist I was seeing because of my weight and health problems. It’s hard to believe that was 11 years ago.

My 11 year journey has had its ups and downs.

I’ve thought about the times I’ve started with a new “diet plan”, times I have quit the program, times I have stumbled, times I have fallen down and gotten back up, and times I’ve restarted again after a long Spark absence and living an unhealthy lifestyle. I’ve had some successes and failures along the way. I’ve thought about what quitting, failure, and success means over these years.

I’ve learned to not give up!

Yes, failure IS part of success!

I’ve been working on changing my mindset about motivation, nutrition, fitness, and how I want to live my life and “retraining my brain”.

As I continue my healthy lifestyle, I commit to making one healthy choice and then another.

I’ve learned the importance of persistence and how it is much more important than the “perfection” mindset.

I’ve learned the fast speed of progress is not as important as keeping moving forward every day and not stopping especially during those times when the scale seems “stuck”.

Every day I commit to doing something to get me closer to my goals.

I have been helped over all these years by so many SparkFriends and SparkGroups through their SparkStories and their trials and tribulations. I have been motivated, inspired, and encouraged to keep going.

Loved the thought about “I’m not losing weight but I’m getting rid of it”. I remember hearing this back in 2007 when I joined my first group.

The beginning of this thought.

In conclusion...

Over all these years since 2007, this wonderful SparkPeople website has always been here for me when I needed it with its support through its multitude of SparkFriends, and I’ve kept coming back and I’ve returned time and time again. Thank you SparkPeople! 80+ pounds gone and I’m continuing my journey to better health!

I wish you the very best, a healthy life, and success in reaching the goals you have set for your life. My journey continues...
