Optimistic according to according to Webster is a feeling or showing hope for the future. Hmmm .... My granddaughter that is 4 years old thinks being optimistic is getting ice cream on the way home from school. ~ My grandson that is 12 years old thinks optimistic is mom isn't going to find out he hasn't turned his homework in for any classes in a week. ~ My grandson (teenager) thinks optimistic means he can do whatever he wants when he turns 18. My granddaughter (college student) thinks optimistic means that family won't know what she's doing even if she posts on her Facebook page. My youngest son (in twenties) thinks optimistic means living together first will guarantee you'll live happily ever after when you do actually get married. ~ My daughter (in thirties) Thinks optimistic means you can keep doing the same thing and get different results. My oldest son (forties) thinks mom and dad will always be there to help him out. ~ My brother (fifties) thinks optimistic is if it's reported in any form it must be true. ~ My dear husband (sixties) Thinks optimistic is our children will start helping us out with things we need repaired without being asked. ~ Obviously being optimistic is being hopeful for something at any age but that doesn't mean it's realistic. I have been optimistic about having better health, however I am striving to have my current lifestyle be something that will help achieve that goal. I'm not eating ice cream every day and sitting on the couch for hours and being optimistic my health will improve. Being optimistic that something will happen the way you desire means you need to do your part to set up for success. I have decided to be optimistic a day at a time and enjoying the triumphs no matter how small. Maybe today I'll be optimistic for ice cream for dessert. lol
