My New Exercise Plan
Friday, August 16, 2019
I did some running intervals in my walk this morning and felt good about it. I want to try to keep increasing my running but not to the point where it aggravates my painful hip. I struggle not to get down about the fact that 2 years ago, I was running 4, 5, or 6 miles at a time, and now I'm going to be starting over from scratch. Right now, if I could just reach a place where I was running or doing walk/run intervals 2-3 times a week, I would be happy.
We found a nice, barely-used stationary bike for $50 and have it right there in the family room. It's very handy to ride while watching TV and has helped DH to be much more consistent in his exercise, which is very important for him. I like it, too!
Because of my schedule of church commitments and living in two different places each week, I have less control of when, and what, I do to workout. So I've come up with a new, very loose plan:
Sunday: Rest day or fun walk or hike with Nellie.
Monday: Circuit training DVD for 1 hour.
Tuesday: Rest day or fun walk or hike with Nellie.
Wednesday: Walk/run or bike for 45 minutes.
Thursday: Circuit training DVD for 1 hour.
Friday: Walk/run or bike for 45 minutes.
Saturday: Walk/run or bike for 45 minutes.
It's time to get back to a consistent exercise routine. I miss feeling fit and I miss the mental health benefits too.
