After a fantastic trip out west, I returned on the 15th. My skin was so dry, due to the low humidity. Living in the Midwest, and living in Florida for several years, high humidity is what I am accustomed to in my world. The dry skin has finally cleared up. I did drink a lot of water on my trip. That is something that I do everyday, anyway. But by Thursday the 17th I had a big sore on my face. WHAT!!! I was not happy. I have always been self conscious - this certainly did not help. My doctor had a Saturday appointment and I took advantage of it. My diagnosis: Shingles!! Yes, I had chicken pox as a child. Because I am older than 60, it was quite common to get this. But I have not been happy. I have taken antibiotics and slept a lot. My energy level has been low. I skipped the gym, due to my illness. I have certainly missed it along with my accountability buddies. However, I have done as much exercise as I can around the house. My sore now has a scab (sorry that is not great to write about) so I am getting better. However, it will probably be a few weeks before it disappears from my face. Here I sit, normally pretty active - now a lot less active. Things will improve.
