Why Won't My Weight MOVE (away)

Saturday, December 21, 2019

Today is my rest day, we'll see how that goes. Yesterday I hurt my back again somehow, don't know how I did but I did. So today in just going to rest and take it easy see how it goes. I may end up doing a 10 minute workout anyways because I'm as stubborn as a mule or donkey whichever one is more stubborn. 🤣🤣 Lately my workouts have been consistent and great. My weight is stuck mid-140's and its driving me crazy. No matter what I do or don't do I can't seem to move my numbers. I'm almost close to starving myself to get those darn numbers to move but I'm not into the whole ER visit and force feeding episode that will ensue.🤔 I'm perplexed on what I'm doing wrong. I have a, well I don't want to say "friend" because we're not, we're past colleagues. Well she's a health guru and she's like 80lbs wet (no joking). She does these videos to promote this product that she sells. Somebody must have commented to her that they thought she never ate anything or that she has a "medical" condition that's how she stays so thin. I'm completely happy for her, I just get exhausted with the whole "do you want to join my team" deal. My point here is, like my colleague here I want to lose weight But I don't want to get the comments she has received. Before I got married I was 95lbs, I looked horrible. That I don't want to be again. I just want these numbers move again without having to join a very expensive "team" that will cost me my first born. I need help, any and all advice is welcome but please be sensitive not with my feelings with the fact I have a Spinal Cord Stimulator and I'm limited to my movements. Thank you for listening. ❤❤❤

Hey focus on healthspan not weight. I am sure you are a babe at 140. You don't need to be 95 pounds. How tall are you are you so short that you are overweight? What is your recommended weight by the insurance companies?

Hi Anne, I don't know what you are doing but, sometime the weight won't budge if you are not getting enough calories. I know that because I have a tendency of doing that.

I have been told that the body reacts as if you are starving, so it goes into protection mode. It won't let any fat go until it is convinced that you have plenty to eat. It's crazy and it's hard for me to wrap my head around it.

Good luck and let me know how it works out for you. emoticon

Wish I had some advice for you. Being stubborn is the best thing you got going for you in my book. It's all a mind game.
I honestly am doing nothing but drinking the daily water and NO soda. Soda free for 9 weeks now. I am still losing 1-2 lbs a week. So if you aren't drinking your daily water amount that might be helpful for you. And if you're drinking soda of any kind.....well....I recommend complete abstinence. At least try it for a couple of weeks.
I started out the first 2 weeks here doing a little bit of workout, but I slacked off. I am going to start back up. I have back pain issues, nothing like you. And I KNOW it would be better if my core was in better shape.

Dancing is always a great way to get your heart rate up. Even just swaying back and forth to a tune.

    Good Luck!

It sounds like your 'colleague' has an eating disorder and may not be a healthy example to follow. Please be kind to yourself and provide enough nutrition to stay healthy, whatever the weight.

    Peace and Care

What I know is that any time my core is strong, I feel better. Hope you find core exercises that work for you

Hope you get the rest you need today to heal your back and be back up to normal tomorrow. It is so frustrating when you are doing everything right and that scale just won’t cooperate.

OK, I have been studying, NASM personal training and this is what I know. Back pain, you need to strengthen your core and stretch out the tight stuff. Do you do yoga? There are some really wonderful stretches for back pain. BTW, I fractured my L1 several years ago...dang that pain! I am now pain free with yoga and developing more stable muscles in the core and back. I do need to work on it a little more tho. Diet and weight loss. I found while doing Jenny Craig I would lose like a rock star doing 1200 calories for a while then hit the plateau and NOTHING helped, so I asked my person to go up on my calories for a week, then back to 1200. BOOM, I lost like a rockstar again. It's that old set point thing the body does. Hope this helps, just don't get frustrated, those "miracle" things aren't so miraculous really.
