Monday, January 13, 2020

This morning I was skimming through Spark People Articles and I came across this article the said " Define Your Own Path to Sucess With These 5 Tips

This was right up my alley because one of my New Years Resolutions is to resign from my job and embark upon a new career filled with Teaching and Self Employment!

Article Quote:
" The most meaningful victories, after all, are those that align with your wants and needs."

This statement was the highlight of the article for me because I have been contemplating quitting my job for something over 5 years. I just didn't have the money, the means, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what I wanted to do with myself. I took all these career and personality assessments each one kicked back something I didn't want to do.

Align my wants with my needs the article recommended emoticon Let's see I *WANT to travel the world helping underdeveloped communities, I *NEED more money! emoticon What a struggle.

Article Tips:
emoticon 1. Know Your Core Values.
I value my family's financial future. I want to create a business that is profitable, and sustainable to pass on to my daughter in the event that she is ever my situation. I value a company that treats its employees with respect and not like a dollar sign. I really truly believe deep in my soul that self-employment and spending local is the answer to financial sustainability.
In the past, I'll admit that since I was a single mom. I really didn't know what my core values were, because the only things I valued were my Kid and the fact that we were not homeless and had food in our bellies.

emoticon 2. Question Your Assumptions.
For the first time, when I really thought about what I wanted to do with my life. I had to stop and ask my self why is this a good fit for me. I had to get past if this would make me and my family more money. If I really ask myself why is this the best move for me right now?

emoticon 3. Consider the Comparison Trap:
My goodness, this was a good one! Because I get caught up in this web easily. I have started and stopped many businesses thanks to the comparison trap!

emoticon 4. Celebrate Your Accomplishments
I am very proud of myself for setting my mind to quitting my job and actually making it happen. I am very proud of myself for finally moving forward.

emoticon 5. Imagine Your Future.
This is the one I still kind of struggle with, because I'm still a little apprehensive about my future but I am content with the decisions I've made about my future. If I stick to the plans I do see myself living my dreams.
