Don't have time to cook

Friday, January 31, 2020

Working 12 hour days, 6 days a week, make it hard to find time to cook. I do however pack a lunch and dinner each day and have a small refrigerator at work. I keep low fat salad dressing, and other condiments in the frig at work as well as fruit cups and cottage cheese. I also keep Hillshire ham and turkey plus Sarengento cheeses. This helps when I have only mins. to get ready for work. I will then just throw in my bread, and protein drinks along with any fresh fruits and vegetables. I buy the salad greens and keep them at home so I can just grab a bag to bring to work with me. I buy a rotisserie chicken each week and cut that up when I get home from shopping. I keep fresh fruit and vegetables along with steam fresh frozen vegetables in the house so that it's easy to grab them quickly. I also keep lots of Tuna in house. With this in mind I am able to make up my daily meal plan and stick to it each day. I stay with in my calorie count and percentages of fat, protein and carbohydrates this way.

WOW!!!! You have a fantastic head on your shoulders getting all of that done and working 12-hours shifts!!! I remember my days of working 12-hours shifts and all I could do was fall into the bed and sleep for 9 or 10-hours and get up and go back to work. YIKES!!!! My hat is off to you, young lady!!!

    Blessings!
