Family Tree

Saturday, February 15, 2020

My oldest, Sarah, got me a DNA kit for my birthday. After sending that off to get the results, I figured I'd work on a family tree. I can't believe how much time I have put into it this week. Once I got started, it was easy to keep going.

I had no idea that my paternal grandfather had so many relatives. He was an only child, BUT, his father re-married and had 11 more kids. He had a cousin that passed on D-Day in Normandy, France.

My maternal grandfather was born in Poland and I can't find any information on him other than my grandma, mom, and uncle.

My maternal grandma is 100% Polish and a first-generation American. Her parents are actually from Germany. She has 7 other siblings, and 5 half-siblings.

I can't imagine having that many babies!

My grandfather was one of 14 and lied in Russia before
coming to the US. His parents and all the siblings came
over, a few at a time, except one sister. Large families were
    not unusual.
