Good-bye, Week Six; Hello, Week Seven

Wow. It's crazy that we're halfway through February already. 2020 is speeding by!

I have not been 100% on target with my goals, but I remain committed and continue to make progress.

1. Say good-bye to one item a day, and if something comes in, something goes out = 366 fewer items.

Still going strong. 89 items (net) have left my apartment. Sometimes, it's a small item, just to keep me in the mindset. I have another donation pick up on Tuesday and will focus on looking through my home for more items to include in it.

2. Read one pleasure book a week that meets the requirements to donate to the prison program = 52 books a year.

I'm on track here, too. I donated two bags of books to the program last week. Right now, I'm reading Ezra Klein's thoughtful take on the evolving political landscape in Why We're Polarized.

3, Happiness Planner project.

Two weeks ago, I wrote, "I've got some work to do. Working through this project has revealed to me that I have some emotional blocks that I need to address to be truly successful."

Umm .. yeeees. Still true. I am trying to clear some emotional clutter, dealing with a data breach, taxes, streamlining my life, my job search, and the fact that I'm going in for kidney surgery on Wednesday. I haven't set aside the Happiness Project, but I am not as focused on it as I want to be.

Bit by bit, step by step, I'm getting myself together. The short term goal: to bring some semblance of sanity to my life. The medium term goal: to finish 2020 a healthier, more contented person with better finances and an organized home. The long term goal: when I reach my next "birthday of significance," I want to look back to where I am now and not even recognize myself. emoticon
