Act Happy Day

This is our assignment for the Aspire and Inspire sparkteam: March is Optimism Month and March 16th is Act Happy Day. Optimism is associated with many benefits in life, including increased health, happiness, and longevity. When someone is happy they are joyful and content, and Act Happy Day was created in an effort to promote the health benefits of happiness, humor, and laughter. Are you naturally optimistic and/or happy? What daily activities can you do to be more optimistic and happy in your life?

In this time of coronavirus, there are lots of things we can do to be happier. Here are various ideas I’ve gotten from the internet:


Wash or sanitize your hands.

Maintain social distance.

Eat right and take any needed medications. Enjoy cooking.

Get enough sleep.

Exercise. You can go outside or exercise at home.

Pray or meditate.

Write in a journal.

Clean or organize your home, so that you are in a nice, calm environment.

Limit your exposure to the news.

Catch up on books, movies, TV shows, or podcasts.

Do arts or crafts.

Learn something new (The internet, especially YouTube, can be a great resource for this).

Enjoy some music.

Play games or work puzzles.

Reach out to others.
