Hi everyone. I started thinking about Spark today and how long it's been since I've been involved in the sight. Time to get involved again and be that "Encourager" I like to be.
For those of you who don't know, I played alto saxophone in my church "House Band" as our Bishop named us. That is until a year ago in February. I had to step down due to health issues that were interfering with my being able to be counted on to be there Saturday mornings for rehearsal and Sunday mornings for worship. To not be able to be counted on was not fair to the band or to my director. After a year of not playing much at home either, (depression) I decided I needed a different saxophone as well as my alto. Some of you remember I name my instruments, and the alto is Allyson. Anyway, I purchased a bronze colored soprano on line
about 2 or 3 months ago now. She is named Jazzy. About a month after I got it I got a respiratory infection and was too short of breath to play. (I have asthma, COPD ) I got medicine for that and am fine now. So I am now playing most days of the week for my own enjoyment here at home.
As far as the Corona Virus, since we are 71 and 81 years young we are sheltered in place. Because of our immune deficiencies and not wanting to even go to the grocery store, we are hooked up to have a week's worth of food delivered starting Monday. It will be 2 meals a day and includes a small desert and bread and milk for the week as well. There would normally be a charge for the service, but because it's during this emergency, we don't have to pay.
I live in Florida, and am glad they finally closed the beaches. Having all those people together was a disaster waiting to happen.
In closing, I just want to say pray, continue to stay safe, follow your governor's orders. God is with us and we will get through this with His help. We are not alone in this. Reach out to your neighbor, family, friends via the internet, phone, any way you can to let others know you care. If you are able to get to the grocery store, see if anyone near you needs anything. We have a very dear friend that is doing that for us.
Spark and blogging is a perfect way to spread hope and support. What is hope? A desire of some good, accompanied with a least a slight expectation of obtaining it, or a belief that it is obtainable.
