I struggled this week. Work stress. Not sleeping well. Aches and pains. Blah, blah, blah, the usual.
I didn't do well on my goals this week, and I really didn't want to write this blog. Then I thought about it and knew I needed the accountability. When no one is checking, I let things slide.
2020 Goals
1. Say good-bye to one item a day, and if something comes in, something goes out = 366 fewer items.
Complete train wreck. I really lost the plot on this one. It's going to take some focus and discipline, but I will get this back on track.
2. Read one pleasure book a week that meets the requirements to donate to the prison program = 52 books a year.
I'm still working my way through Ian Rankin's Detective John Rebus series. I actually read three books this week, but two were e-books and don't count for this challenge.
Total for 2020: 19
3. Happiness Planner project.
I have not been perfect with this goal, but I have been consistent, and I think that's a strong beginning. It's the day in, day out choices we make that determine who we become and what we achieve.
4. I will try one new recipe each week.
Last week, I said I was going to attempt Ina Garten's panettone bread pudding. Unfortunately, I couldn't locate several important ingredients. I'm going to try again this week and will also make a pot roast recipe I found in my Betty Crocker cookbook. It's cold and damp and perfect weather for giving it a go.
5. I'm adding a new goal: skin care. My skin is a mess, and I'm not getting any younger. So I'm going to make skin care a priority to look and feel better.
We preach progress, not perfection. To get back on track, I had to stop going the wrong direction and turn around. Now to make up lost ground!
