Goal setting

Monday, April 27, 2020

So I joined Spark on April 4th. WooHoo! I've been logging in ever since. i really appreciate all of the support, friendship, and encouragement I have received on here. To those who read my blogs, send me goodies, quotes etc.

I finished the new member challenge and can't believe I've been tracking my food consistently ever since I joined. I don't like to admit it, but keeping up with goals is not a strong suit for me sometimes, but I am so determined to change. I am tired of self sabotage and not accomplishing things! Perfectionism is my biggest enemy, but I'm happy to say, we broke up! I decided attempting to do everything perfect just isn't worth it

With everything going on in the world right now, I was tempted to not even restart this journey. However, I realize that I can't use that as an excuse. I can't let that get me down. I still need to live my life. The gym is closed of course, but I can still exercise at home, take walks, do spark people workouts, and eat healthy and in moderation.

SparkPeople is such a positive atmosphere and a light, not to mention community of helpful and caring individuals. I am now starting two challenges with Spark friends, and I look forward to them as well. I also joined a bible study team on here that refreshes my mind daily. It's simply amazing what meditating on scripture can do for you. It doesn't have to be overwhelming. One scripture a day. Quality over Quantity

That goes for many things in life: Quality -good food, good sleep, good friendships!

Do any of your family members or friends say to you "I'm just so busy?" You may have reached out to them, but yet they still don't call, or, unfortunately, only contact you when they need or want something. Many of us have been there.

In a world where so many of us deal with that, Spark friends are such a blessing. It's a life saver just to have people on here "pay it forward" and say kind things, showing that they care. You never know how your words might brighten or impact another person's day!

On another note, I've started a Sparkpeople/Healthy Lifestyle/Self Care journal. I own so much stationary (I love it!) I am even using a sparkly orange notebook, like the Spark book. emoticon And I am posting quotes, things that have helped me, journal entries, and goals in it. That's one way to get your mind off food, is by finding a creative outlet.

I also wrote a reward system. For every 10 pound loss, I give myself something. Example: jewelry, lush cosmetics, Bath and body works, new clothes. And once a long time ago when I was on here, someone suggested the idea to me where I create a video blog every time I reward myself and share what I did. I can't remember which spark buddy told me that, but I thought that was a cool idea! I'm going to be doing that soon.

Thanks for reading!
