Springtime Lunch

Friday, May 22, 2020

It appears that humans are not the only animals foraging for springtime tasty treats; this black bear defies gravity to get to the very tenderest tree buds.

I enjoyed my first face to face contact with a person other than a store clerk since March 16 when a friend dropped by yesterday. We sat out in the driveway, enjoyed some fine wine and caught up on the news. It was grand! Sunday I will see my son, DIL and grandkids for the first time since that date as well; no hugs or kisses but being able to converse in real time will be a wonderful gift.

I've been getting together with my daughter, grandsons, sisters, their husbands and their children and even their grandchildren once a week on Zoom. Whoever can join us...not everyone every week. Our families range from the East Coast to the Southwest. DH and I live in the middle. It's wonderful to see them. It really brings the families together.

Love the bear acrobat!! I can recall seeing pretty large porcupines eating sticky sweet poplar buds high in the trees -- but the bear outweighs a porcupine by many pounds!!

So happy you've had a nice driveway visit -- we had a similar visit with our friends at their farm yesterday -- and that you've got time with family coming up on Sunday!! You must be getting close to your actual move date!! Perhaps they are giving you a hand??

Happy to hear you've been able to enjoy some face-to-face contact outside of the 'essential business'.

We're still waiting. I know the time will come.

He must have been pretty hungry. That's amazing. He seems to almost be floating.

The times I've had to venture out to stores have been highlighted by little chats with the cashiers. Home delivery is booked up in advance where I live. I'm so happy for you to be able to see family. This isolation is a difficult thing. Enjoy your visit!

We make sure to visit as a family every other week. We all meet at my parents house and my dad measures 10 feet increments - not taking any chances he says! It is good to sit out and visit for an hour.

OOOh the bear in a tree. It doesn't look like the tree could hold up the bear. It is nice to be able to get together again. The club I belong to is opening with limited hours and restrictions today here in #NB. It will be great to talk with people in person. I know what you mean. Have fun! ....Bob.

That picture made me think of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
I do see one of my friends in person at least once a week - no hugs, but yeah, need that personal contact with someone who is not me or my son. Hope you have a wonderful visit.
