COVID-19 Life

Friday, May 22, 2020

It has been awhile since I blogged! (I think I start every blog with those words anymore.)

I was in an eating/exercise funk before COVID-19 and I'm actually doing a little better now. Spring and more outdoor time always help. Our immediate family is doing a weight-loss challenge. I'm sure I won't win but it's motivating to have to tell someone else what you weigh!

As far as changes due to the pandemic, we never did eat out much so that hasn't been a big change for us, and living in the country means our day-to-day is full of projects and things to do this time of year. DH is back at work and I'm still working partially from home, which I love! We can garden, and walk for miles and do all sorts of things outdoors, and so far there have been NO cases of the virus in our county. I'm very thankful.

We are missing our kids, especially our son and DIL. She is a hospital RN and works with COVID-19 patients so we are concerned for them. We haven't seen them since Christmas and probably won't for the foreseeable future.

My online church services have been going well, now that we've worked out most of the kinks. If anyone is looking for an online service, you can find ours at stpaulbluehill.b

I feel most sorry for the nursing home residents and other shut-ins, especially those who aren't tech-savvy. I make a lot of phone calls, and do weekly prayer/devotion time calls with quite a few nursing home residents. I always feel so blessed after talking with these wise and seasoned elders.

I pray that we will emerge from this time stronger and will have learned to appreciate what's really important in life.

So good to hear from you - I figured that gardening was soothing your soul these days.

I make a lot more phone calls these days too - but I am glad my mama didn't live to go through this. I don't think I could have taken this many months without being able to hold her.

Thank you for the link to your services!!

    many big hugs to you.

Wonderful to be able to get a service online and for your caring of others. These will be things remembered as the virus memories fade :)

Our church deacons make calls to check on us. Let's hope that soon we can meet in person again.

Your DIL is a very special lady. I hope you are able to connect with them in the near future. I’m so sorry. That must be hard not seeing them for so long.
WTG on all of your outdoor work. I agree it helps so much being outdoors.

Sounds like things are going relatively well. We have seen some good results from our online service, and several of our members have stepped up to minister to our shut ins.

    Blessings
