Fearing Failure

Friday, May 29, 2020

That seems to come to bother me whenever I get to the point of a quilt where it is almost finished. I get so nervous about putting on the borders and then it can take me days to decide what kind of binding to use. But here it Kate's quilt. She is my oldest great niece that lives about 80 miles from me and is graduating from high school. What a year to do that!
I even put fleece on the back of it because she like to cuddle.

I'm so glad that is done. The steaks I brought home from the store last night I cut into 4 dinners and froze 3. Tonight I enjoyed my piece of steak cooked in the air fryer along with some sweet potatoes and beans. The kind of dinner I rarely make myself because it's expensive to eat steak and I love beef. It really was nice and tender.

thank fulls
1. that quilt is a big weight off my shoulders
2. there was a parade with fire trucks, buses and decorated cars tonight for the nursing home at the end of my street.
3. only 4 more days until I get my hair permed again (hate my straight hair)

I'll stay home again tomorrow and make the pillow case to match the quilt. It will have a green body, with the blue top and a little bit of yellow trim. they are really fun to make. Then I'll go back to finishing up the masks for the nurses. Should be all done with those by Sun. And then I can go back to those really fun little baby blankets.

The quilt turned out beautifully! I understand procrastinating on finishing the quilt - you get stuck at the binding, while I would never be able to decide what colors/patterns to put together in the blocks!

The quilt for the graduate is beautiful, yes imagine your thrilled to have finished that big project. I would love to see a picture of the pillowcase when it is done. That seems like it won't take much time to finish with the straight lines to sew doing the pillowcase. Yes ir should be fun getting started to get back to working on those
little baby quilts again. I finished cutting all the blocks of the first 3 blocks for the project I am doing so far 3 pieces of each pattern in the colors I have chose to start with. May need to switch in some other colors too, but that would be fine since I believe it will be a tablecloth in the end that I will use it for.
So think since I have then all pinned for sewing, will sew them after I do some cleaning here tomorrow. Then I can make some lighter colored masks for Jim and I after I get them sewed and pressed and set aside.
