Hi everyone. I believe mistakes are supposed to happen sometimes. I ordered from Amazon a # 3 reed for the soprano sax, I thought. Got a notice that the reed would be delivered to me tomorrow. I checked the order and it was for Allyson, my alto. That might not be a bad thing. Sometimes the stiffer the reed, the better tone out of the horn. So I went back and ordered another one for the soprano. I doubled checked the order this time, so I won't be getting two for the alto and none for the soprano. My error..I just hope I can play on the stiffer reed. Now I am using a 2.5 strength.I really don't expect all of you who are reading this to understand it....but a few of you will know what I mean.

I had 2 blessing gifts today. I have a friend who is a saxophone teacher at our University of Florida and she suggested I send her a video of my practicing and she will try and analyze what I need to change. How special is that.

My other gift was from another friend who knows I love teddy bears and also our Tampa Bay Bucs football team even when they are horrible, and our Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey team. So he came over today with 2 bears...The real deal from the National Hockey League..a darling bear dressed in a onesie with the TB Lightning logo on the front and on the sleep cap, The other is a bear dressed as a Tampa Bay Bucs cheer leader, again the NFL logo. I'll get a picture of them tomorrow. and put them up on my page. They are so cuddly cute.

Well, I see I got done with this blot at 11:45 pm...I didn't blog yesterday. Oh well. Tomorrow's a new month..a new beginning I'll tell you about tomorrow.

Sleep well and pleasant dreams dear friends. emoticon emoticon

So nice your friend is going to help you. Hopefully she can see/hear something and offer advice that makes everything fall into place for you. I'm sure it's frustrating to practice and feel like you're not making any progress. I finally got caught up on your concerts - enjoyed them all! I especially liked Alexander's Ragtime Band - I remember playing that in high school band. And I didn't realize Lord of the Dance (one of my favorite hymns) was adapted from Simple Gifts so you're educating me as well as entertaining me!

I hope that your friend can help. Reeds are fickle, that's for sure. I usually get a box of 5 and the last time only 1 was a really good reed. I really need to get my clarinet out and start playing again. Have a great day!
