It is Reveal Day

My hostas are in bloom. I am thankful they came back. In the spring the deer ate them and they did not look good at all. Now they look healthy again and are blooming.
Today s kind of a bittersweet day. My son and DIL, who are expecting, are having a gender reveal party this evening. We are invited and I would LOVE to attend. BUT they have invited over 40 people. They live in a very small house. We have attended parties there before and it is VERY crowded. People all on tip of each other.
They have borrowed our tent to put up in the backyard, as long as it does not rain ( there is a 50% chance). But even that will be crowded with so many people in attendance. I have never seen either my son or DIL wearing face masks.
My other son called and told us he will not be going due to the crowd and no face masks. He works for a pharmaceutical company and is very aware f the risks. HIs company has what they hope is a viable vaccine which is going into human trials in September. If it works, it will be available in the beginning of next year. They are already manufacturing it, hoping it will work.
Our daughter and her fiancé are attending. SHe has promised to Facetime me when they are doing the reveal, so at least I can see it.
It makes me sad that Covid has made it unsafe for me to be there for this happy event. This pregnancy is one of the happiest things we have to hold onto during this difficult time.
ONce again, I have to look past the disappointment and focus on the happiness and joy. I am excited to find out if I will be the grammy of a little girl or little boy.
Have a wonderful day, dear friends.
