Eat Like a Bear

Thursday, July 16, 2020

I thought I would put my thoughts down on my page so I can look back at my success.

I have completed one month of Eat Like a Bear. If you haven’t heard of the program, I would recommend you google it and read all you can if you are interested in intermittent fasting. It was developed by Dr. Amanda Rose. She offers a 3 day challenge before you jump right in. A friend of mine purchased the ebook and shared with her daughters and me. One month of intermittent fasting eating 1 hour out of a 24 hour period, or 23:1. There are other breakdowns but we thought we would jump right in with 23:1.

I am down 21.4 lbs.

I forgot to get measurements when I started but that is ok. I know I am down in inches, mostly in my belly which makes me happy. I was hesitant at first because I didn’t think I could manage to not eat outside of my 1 hour window but after the first few days, it became so easy. Amanda suggest pickle pops to eat outside of your 1 hour window and to be sure and get drinks with added electrolytes. I ordered a giant box of pickle pops on Amazon and only found I used 3 or 4. I drink a gallon of ½ decaf and ½ regular tea and flavor it with either True Lemon or True Lime packets in addition to water. I haven’t noticed any hunger but a few times right before I eat. Hubby and I decided to do this together since we are both working from home full time now and thought eating at 1 pm would work best for us. Our one meal a day (OMAD) consists of a really big salad (RBS) full of veggies and proteins and making the recipes provided to make your own salad dressing. The first few weeks I made my salad dressing but decided that the dressing I bought was low in carbs anyway so I have been using what we have on hand.

I also made some fat bombs (recipes can be found on pinterest, google, etc) and have been enjoying a few of those after our meal. Seems to help with the chocolate fix. I look forward to my continues success!!
