I try not to take full length pics due to my size. I am a master of angles to not appear as heavy as my 5'4" frame often has carried over 200 lbs. So, I am going to share a picture I took in Feb 2020 around my birthday at the Kennedy Center. You''ll notice the strategically placed purse to hide my gut.
Fast forward to the cruise yesterday for my baby sister's neon themed birthday party on the Potomac River.
I packed and tracked my dinner before I left. There was no sharing like we normally do but I brought a bit extra because my daughter does the keto diet and I knew she was likely to nibble on my cheese and shrimp. I planned to use nonfat Greek yogurt in my deviled eggs but, since I wasn't drinking or having cake, I made them with mayo with restraint.

I picked up those flat pretzels on the way so the plan got a little bungled but it's OK.

I no longer drink alcohol as of 3/31/2020! I brought my fancy water bottle with lime and took a healthy shot of non-alcoholic GINGER BEER once with the group
We danced, sang karaoke and enjoyed our small family gathering. It was nice to see a few family and friends. The rain held off and it wasn't hot at all on the water! My family noticed I've dropped a few pounds. More importantly, I actually felt confident in how I looked and the choices I made for the celebration. I even managed to stay true to the NO SWEETS challenge (there was no cake or cupcakes to share)
I can't believe how much healthier I look 6 months since my birthday in February
I am committed to continuing this journey to get fitter. I even dropped a pound this morning (yes I peeked at the scale after the cheese and deviled egg splurge last nite)
