Optimism really does feel better!!
Thursday, October 08, 2020
Okay I always mean well, but I have a hard time keeping up with the days of the week. So, here is a copy of Optimistic October. Now you will have it too.
October 6th was....Do something constructive to improve a difficult situation.
There is not a whole lot I can affect right now with COVID and trying to stay home as much as possible. However, one of my daughters called me needing help. Her teenage son was driving her crazy and was doing nothing but screaming and fighting with her. Now to tell you a little more about the situation, both of them have Bipolar disorder just as I do. So I mediated. I now have my grandson for 2 days. I have no problems with him when he is with me. We have a very close bond. He knows he can talk to me about anything and still does for now. If it weren't for the fact that I have already lived through this scenario with her as a child, I might wonder because he tells a completely different story.
Oct 7th was "Remember that things can change for the better"
I have a hard time with this one as I am in a lot of pain most days and often wonder if it will ever get better. This is where my mindful meditation practices come in so helpful. They have taught me to get out of my head and to look beyond the moment. Then I know that things can and will change for the better.
Oct 8th "Make progress on a project or task you have been avoiding."
I am doing this all evening. I had planned to work on my granddaughter's special surprise flower and butterfly exploding popup box all day today. However it is a surprise and I have my granddaughter now. But she is a beauty and so worth it. She goes home in about an hour so this evening I will finish building the box. Tomorrow I will make the origami flowers and butterflies to go inside. This goes in her wedding box. She is going to be the flower girl for my other Daughter's wedding. I will post a picture once I get the box finished.
Optimism is Happiness...
My Happiness today are 2 of my grandchildren that are spending the afternoon with me.
What is your happy?
