My 3rd son has Covid-19

Thursday, December 31, 2020

My 3rd son and his wife went over to her 92 yo GM's for Christmas and the Aunt was there visiting.
They had all agreed only my son and his wife and her parents would come over to see GM. Well, the Aunt had gone during the week to a Nutcracker show her grandkids were in and she didn't wear a mask, but she didn't mention it to them, while they were all there for about 4 hours.
She was sick on Sunday and Monday tested positive for Covid-19. So my son, wife and in-laws went to be tested and were told they were negative. I told my son when he called that a test at 3 days could be negative and he should stay home from work at the news station for another two days but he went to work on Tuesday as they are short of help.
On Wednesday morning, his MIL had a fever and cough, and GM was coughing, so they all went to get tested and they are all positive.
He had his friend and his gf over to visit on Tuesday as they are in town for Christmas, so now they have to be tested and then he was around people in the news station. He's so stressed as GM is 92, and his in-laws are 64.

My 4th son got it from his wife in August as she's a RN and a patient coughed in her face, but even with a mask on she got it. The patient tested positive 3 days later. She and my son were both really sick, but got through it.

Yes, it's not always you but the person beside you that doesn't believe they can get it or they don't want to look silly in public wearing a mask. So frustrating. Hope your son and his extended family make it through with no side effects.

    God Bless all of you!

My 58yr old paralytic daughter in a Nursing facility has gone thru it. It took her a ouple weeks to get over it.

I am prone to Stress Induced Asthma, and, my lungs are 'iffy'.

I ' had to ' cancel both Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Just about 'killed' me.
I video-talked with them on both days. Not one had masks on. Even a guest not living there.

So, my Emotional Support fur-baby and I spent those holidays alone.

yup, that's the way it goes...

Each person makes one exception in holding back the strictest of lines and dominoes go tumbling down.

I am sorry to hear all this but thank you for posting it! I get weary living such an isolated life until I see the alternative stories of others. It would be disastrous for me!

Let's keep focused on the next right thing(s)!

That is terrible Jibbie. I hope they recover quickly.
What a terrible way to get sick. It really only takes one person
to set the infection on its way.

You stay safe now Jibbie. Hey we had a Sparkversary - 14 years.
Hw and where has the time flown? Stay safe and Healthy.
    Happy New Year! emoticon emoticon

Oh, Jibbie. I'm so sorry to hear this. How cavalier do some people have to be to ignore the world around them and endanger everyone?!?? Praying that your son and family feel better soon.

Sending out positive thoughts for a good outcome. But this does show you how serious this is... never take anything for granted.

I am so surprised that there are theatres with people in them! And no mask rules. So very sorry to hear about your family. I hope that they all recover quickly!

Prayers for you and your family. My husband is 65 and he recovered from Covid-19 about a week ago.. I have to quarantine for another week, but so far I have not contracted it. Hope that will give you some encouragement. Praying you all will have a blessed New Year.
