Hi Katie.
Welcome back. I too yo yo with spark and weight loss/gain. I am trying to change my lifestyle and eating habits as well, but it seems every time I start to get on track, a setback occurs. It's hard to walk when every step is pain. So for now I am just eliminating all fast food except salads, and no sugary or sodium laden snacks, just healthy ones. The food tracker REALLY does help.I hope we can do this together!
Blessings

Hey Katie,
Welcome back! Take baby steps and keep making good decisions. It's up to you!
I use the nutrition tracker every day and track every bite. That gives me a realistic look at what I eat ad how much of it.
Tonight after dinner I went to Oxford Lake and walked two miles; I didn't feel like it, but I am glad I did. Start by taking short walks, like 10 minutes and work your way up!
It all helps,
Cindy

Hey Katie,

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger here....I lost then gained some back. My dr. wanted me to
do Gastric Sleeve because he says it is better than the band....but I am resisting and getting
back on the straight and narrow with my eating.

My recommendations are few, if you drink any kind of soda stop....the sodium in it makes you
retain water and it is proven unhealthy....plus you are really helping flush impurities and other
bad things, not to mention really helping your kidneys by drinking 8-10 glasses of water daily.

There are so many good recipes on Spark, so many exercises, and when I was successful
at losing, I ate lean meats grilled, baked, crockpotted, 3 meals and 2 snacks a day.
One protein at each meal, for breakfast a low carb fruit, the snacks were veggies, and lunch and dinner was a protein and 2 veggies....or a salad and a veggie.

I think if you can prepare foods ahead, like put them in ziplocks or Tupperware, so you have something to grab quick to munch...I found I liked zuchinni baked with a little olive oil spritz and a small amount of grated parmesan....or zuchinni sticks , the mini cucumbers in walmart or winn Dixie, depending on where you shop, and the little yellow tomatoes. I tried to stick
with a little marinara for dip....

I do use one of those grater doodands and use zuchinni instead of pasta...I went to a
nutritionist, and she told me to avoid gluten, white flour, sugar and starchy veggies like corn,
potatoes, rice.....

I know there are a bunch of good people on here and everyone will be friendly....how far
north do you live?

Good luck, do this for you, for your health.....for YOU,
DarleneK

I'm Katie and I live in North Alabama. I had originally joined SP about 5 years ago and then got overwhelmed with everything (life, weight loss, etc). Think what happened was I was looking for a quick fix to all my problems. And lets face it, most of my problems didn't come on quickly and won't leave quickly. I need to lose almost (if not over) 200 pounds. Trying to recommit to SP because I want to avoid doing the Bariatric Surgery. Focusing on small steps right now--trying to get more water in as well as more vegetables and fruit. Haven't tried using the food tracker yet. One of the main things I know I need to be working on is moving more. That is the next step.
Would appreciate any advice, encouragement or motivation y'all have to offer. Thanks!
