It sounds like you have a great plan. Most of the runs I have done have been fund raisers. The Cancer fundraisers are my favorite since I'm a Cancer Survivor. I also have to do alot of interval runs now due to my arthritis. Keep up the good work!

I had a great time at the Superhero Run, today! In addition to 5K and 10K events, there was a "Little Heroes Dash" for the youngsters, which was absolutely adorable! Here is a little photo montage from the event... that's me in the lower left corner with my Veloped and dogs.

Since I wanted to run with my dogs, I did the course an hour before the event actually began, so that the dogs and I would not be in the way for other runners.

Monty, it is so nice of you to talk about intervals! You are an inspiration to me to keep working on improving. Today I did a 15 min/mi pace - that's using the Veloped - and I was very happy with that. I don't know if I will be able to run again without the Veloped, but then a year ago I could barely walk a block even with the Veloped. So, stay tuned!

I totally love what you've taken on. Stay with it. Be safe and pursue your interval running. I will tell you that Triathlon Teammates of mine who hate running have taken on the interval run technique as a way to meet our 3rd discipline. They kill with their swim and bike, and are quite happy with it! Doing races for a charity or cause is a beautiful way to pay it forward! When it comes to a close choice, I always consider if there is an effort involved. Well done. Be safe and stay strong!

Hi! I'm in a long process of recuperating from a 2-year long health crisis. In July, I started signing up for local walk/run events as a way to motivate myself to exercise. Such events also give me a great way to gauge improvement, tracking distance, pace, and endurance. Each small improvement gives me much needed encouragement, and each event completed gives me a real feeling of accomplishment.

I have been participating in events that are fundraisers for community organizations and worthy causes, which is another source of satisfaction for me! Tomorrow morning, I will be participating in the Superhero Run, which supports CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates for children.

CASA: "Every child needs a hero, but abused and neglected children need superheroes."

As you can see in the pic, a lot of folks participating in this event dress up as superheroes. This should be lots of fun! I will let you know how it goes, and I am looking forward to hear about the events that all of you Road Runners are participating in, too!
