I agree w/ your Dr. even though I'm not a Dr. emoticon emoticon --this really is a great site. You honestly have all the tools here, nutrition tracker/exercise,healthy recipes, exercise, REAL people who can understand what your going thru-hence the reason we join teams! to help/encourage/motivate you!-although we all have something in common, wanting to get/stay healthy, the teams are a little more personnel b/c of the same like, whatever that may be that your dealing with. Also so important is drinking your water, be accountable for your goals/nutrion/exercise, that's why you can track them. The health articles/blogs are fantastic

There is alot to explore on this site, and everyday you'll find something new and interesting. Please, if you need help w/ anything just ask, were all here to help! look forward to hearing about your progress! emoticon

Hello, my name is Rebekah. I am 29 years old, a wife and mother, a full time student of Literature, a vegetarian, and a writer. I have been overweight my whole life ( since I was 10), and I have lost and gained weight so much I have lost count of the times. But I went to the doctor the other day, and when I got on the scale I saw a number that scared me to death, 278. I left the doctor that day thinking, "When did I get this big? How could I let myself go for this long?" I couldn't shake the number 278 out of my head. I am relatively healthy for my size, but I know I can't hope to stay that way forever, and I must do something now. I have friends who have done or are doing the Lap Band, but I just can't feel comfortable with undergoing major surgery to loose weight myself. It scares me. I have a lot of bad eating and lifestyle habits, and only I can change them. I know this is going to be a slow battle, but I know I can do this. If I can keep my GPA up to almost a 4.0, and write a novel, I can become a healthier person. I have struggled with insomnia since I was about 12, and doctors have told me that my problem is my weight, so I am hoping that loosing weight will help me sleep better. Also, if anyone has any tips on how to sleep through the night, please let me know. emoticon
