What is your name or nick name? Lindainalabama I wash pots and pans at Arby's on Fri. and Sat. night, there they call me Grandmother. I just turned 70 and have a delightful 4 month old ggson.

What do you like to do for fun? Stat bike, genealogy, quilt, dogs, garden, talk.

What diet are you following? Started doing KETO INTERMITTENT 5 weeks ago and have lost 20 pounds! Which will make a total loss of 40 pounds since May 2017.

What is your favorite exercise? Stat Bike

Do you have a personal challenge you are dealing this season? I had total knee replacement 2 years ago and it's still not happy.

If you did a previous 5% Challenge tell us about it. I'm excited to begin.

2 random fun facts about you? I love to travel. I love to craft.

Do you have a personal challenge you are dealing this season? I will be stopping breastfeeding my youngest soon & am worried I will stop seeing losses since I won't be burning those extra calories producing milk everyday :(

What diet are you following? Low Carb. I started with strict Keto, but I don’t generally track macros except occasionally at this point. It was a good tool in the beginning. I am also doing Intermittent Fasting after reading the work of Dr. Jason Fung. Google him now!

What is your favorite exercise? Spin class, hiking, elliptical

Do you have a personal challenge you are dealing with this season? I am planning to finish the last 13 peaks (8 hikes) of the New Hampshire 48 4k footers which are the mountians here over 4000ft in elevation. I am also doing an indoor cycling certification training in a few weeks 😬

If you did a previous 5% Challenge, tell us about it. Yes, I was on The Awesome A Team for a few cycles about 3-4 years ago. Glad to be back!

2 random fun facts about you? I grew up in FL, but have been in New England for 20 years. Also, I love to sing.

What do you like to do for fun? I am a summer person, I love camping, walks, fishing.

What diet are you following? I am following the Sparks Calorie recommendations and tracking. .

What is your favorite exercise? I love walking – would like to progress to running(secret goal)

Do you have a personal challenge you are dealing this season? We have a lot of summer functions, camping, family, company BBQs. The challenge is to navigate each one with healthy choices and not appear fanatical to my family or guests.

2 random fun facts about you? I have travelled around the world! Really – bought air tickets and as long as we headed in a general direction(west) we could stop where ever we wanted and stay – trip took 11 months – was 25 at the time. Now loving being that 60 age, shaking my head that it went by so fast!!! Working my way back to strong healthy and slim!

Anything else you would like to share: Would really like to explain my weight tape – I have tried to convert it to lbs (which I am more comfortable with) but with no success – so when you read 21 – that means Kilograms and to calculate lbs simply multiply by 2.2.

What do you like to do for fun? Love to read, I read all the time, if I don't have time for that I am listening to audio books, I garden, make jewelry and love to Bake...that can be a hard one with trying to eat right! ( like to try my recipes out) So the challenge now is to recreate recipes with less calories/fat/ and sugar and keep the taste!

What diet are you following? Nothing specific-Just eat smaller portions, cutting out desserts, and eating more veggies than I did before, calorie tracking and reduction. Regular meals, no skipping or eating out as much, and drinking lots and lots of water! Yipee...

What is your favorite exercise? Running but I have a bad heel bone spur, so lately biking and rowing...with some weights thrown in to make it exciting. But not while riding the bike. Hoping once the weight is down more my feet will feel better.

Do you have a personal challenge you are dealing this season? I am going to Costa Rica at the end of the year and I want to be able to hike up Volcano's, swim, go on adventures and feel good in a bathing suit! I want my foot to feel better and I want to feel AWESOME!

What do you like to do for fun? I'm an avid reader, but never have enough time to do that. Lately, my fun has been hanging out at the beach or anything that my fiancé and I come up with to do!

If you did a previous 5% challenge tell us about it. I have participated in several years of challenges on the Starfish team. I missed the last one but hope to get back in the groove. I have never met the 5% goal but,over time, have lost over 50 lbs (have gained a few back so ready to kick into gear!)

2 random fun facts about you? Well, first, I love living on Okinawa, Japan island and we’re going back after almost 3years in California. Also, I have a group of 5 (myself included) girlfriends from HIGH SCHOOL (not from my college years) that come together every year for a long weekend!

Hi! I'm Celynne :) I'm a first timer to this, but it's so nice to see so many returning people! It's very encouraging.

For fun I enjoy reading, video games, hiking, swimming, adult colouring books and perusing vintage shops.

I'm not following any diet in particular except for Spark recommendations and just trying to eat ALL THE FRESH VEGETABLES.

To be completely honest I HATE most "traditional" exercises i.e. if it's not something I'd be doing anyway (like hiking or snowshoeing or swimming or yoga) I'm probably going to be miserable doing it.

My biggest personal challenge this season is with drinking. Last summer a lot of my spare time was spent just sitting reading in the sun and drinking beer after beer or cider after cider and it's an ongoing battle for me not to succumb to that.

2 random fun facts... I'm an accounting student now but I was a cook for 6 years and a librarian for 5 years before that. Aaaand I speak French (my mother tongue) and I am teaching myself Spanish alors bonjour les francais y hola a los que hablan espanol :)

My name is Dawn

I like to read, sing, and craft (embroidery, crochet, papercraft)

I am now learning to live on a low carb diet. Very challenging.

I love to exercise, my favourite is dancing. I try to get 2 resistance and 3 cardio sessions per week.

My challenge is struggling with emotional eating. I started a challenge a couple years ago but I did not finish. I chose this one because it seems doable.

I am very hopeful that being on a team will help keep me accountable. Looking forward!

I work on my farm for fun and for a living

Presently, I am following a keto diet and am on day 3

I work hard every day and serve my family. Sitting down to a piece of chocolate cake (homemade) is the only reward I seek in life

What do you like to do for fun? I am currently searching for my new passion, but I enjoy photography, kayaking, travel, reading, cooking, walking my dog, being with friends, laughing and long soaking bubble baths.

What diet are you following? I have been all over the range of diets from vegan to low carb. Currently, I am not excluding any food but am taking the time to make sure I am hungry, using reasonable portions and thinking about what would really taste fresh and good. I am trying to limit gluten, sugar, alcohol, and increase water.

What is your favorite exercise? I walk my dog and am taking a beginner’s class in Qigong/Tai Chi. I have a kayak and a small lake sitting at the edge of my back yard and need to get back to enjoying that.

Do you have a personal challenge you are dealing this season? My attitude and determination.

If you did a previous 5% Challenge tell us about it. I have tried a few times, but was never successful. It was my failure to do all things expected – to be totally committed. You know the saying, “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result”. Well that has been my previous modus operandi. Time to do things differently.


2 random fun facts about you? I love reading cookbooks and have a large (over 1000) collection. Two years ago, my doctor told me to get a dog for exercise so I adopted a 65 pound Redbone Coonhound without ever having a hunter in the family or knowing anything about a scent hound.

Anything else you would like to share? I feel like I am coming out of the grief and depression after my husband died four years ago. At first, I forced myself to be strong, manage everything, be cheerful and generally go about my regular life. I felt I had to prove I was the strong, capable woman my husband always said I was. Now I realized that I was faking most of it and admitted to myself that I was lonely and depressed. I am trying to find balance and joy in my life.

What do you like to do for fun? Take the RV on trips and hike wherever there is a trail.

What diet are you following? Mainly plant based while watching calorie intake and expenditure through exercise.

What is your favorite exercise? Yoga, walking and biking.

Do you have a personal challenge you are dealing with this season? Yes...trying to take care of a disabled husband while still recovering from a broken collarbone. We also moved into our tIny RV full time while trying to sell our home. We will then build our new home. This scenario makes it harder to eat healthy and exercise like I want to.

What do you like to do for fun? read, hike, spend time with my kids,

What diet are you following?Was following Keto diet until two weeks ago and plan to return to that this week

What is your favorite exercise? stair climber (or swimming when it is summer)

Do you have a personal challenge you are dealing this season? I have a few injuries and some minor stuff that makes it challenging to lose weight but, mostly just carving out the time.

If you did a previous 5% Challenge tell us about it.never done one before and trying to figure it all out

2 random fun facts about you? I was a competitive swimmer in college ,I am obsessed with sharks, and I like everything in sets of 3

Anything else you would like to share? I am very excited to join this team and can't wait to meet the challenge !!

What do you like to do for fun? read, watch football, hang out with my family

What diet are you following? just eating healthy(vegetarian) and staying in my calorie range

What is your favorite exercise? walking

Do you have a personal challenge you are dealing this season? I have diabetes lost weight and was able to get off my medication but gained the weight back and therefore back on meds. Hoping to get off the meds again.

If you did a previous 5% Challenge tell us about it. new to the challenge

2 random fun facts about you? I am a huge New Orleans Saints fan even though I am originally from NY.

Anything else you would like to share? I recently relocated to Florida from New Orleans (like May) and am still waiting for my family to move here in August. So I am hoping this challenge will keep me busy and active so I won't have time to miss them as much!

Do you have a personal challenge you are dealing this season?
I have severe osteoarthritis in both knees, right knee I’ve had a high tibial osteotomy. I also have athritis in my facet joints and have endometriosis.

I’m studying to get a degree
I love cooking, I have way too many cook books.
Anything else you would like to share?
I am a carer for my life lovely husband and we live with two crazy dogs in a sleepy village in England, UK.

Read, cook, draw, write, hike.

1500 calories a day while trying to maintain a healthy, balancing meal.

What is your favorite exercise?
Pilates and walking

Do you have a personal challenge you are dealing this season?
I've begun to notice the beginning of arthritis and am taking steps to lose the weight to make it more manageable.

I'm completely and utterly addicted to all things vintage. :)

Knit, read, quilt, cook, card making, and one stroke paintng

What diet are you following?
1500 calories a day, trying to eat a "balanced diet". All things in moderation

What is your favorite exercise?
Yoga and stationary bike

Do you have a personal challenge you are dealing this season?
I'm trying to get some weight off my joints as to hopefully help with the pain of fibro and arthritis.

This is my first.

2 random fun facts about you?
I'm the Mom to two adult children and Grandma to three adult grandchildren. I am a four year breast cancer survivor living life to the fullest.

Anything else you would like to share?
I am a turtle. I do not lose weight fast or easy. I fight for every pound. I do have times when I have set backs and feel like giving up. I am also an emotional eater. I hope this challenge will give me the incentive to stay on track and keep going.
