I just started yesterday and many of the welcome messages said that the more active you are on the site the more motivated you stay. You just took the biggest leap in just getting started and now you can do the rest in daily bits and pieces until you can work up to it being a healthy habit. You can do it!

Hi

I hated the thought of wasting time exercising. I could be doing something else. So I started with washing a wall, then later touching my toes. I would fit some quick easy exercise into my day. Even a minute of swinging my arms while I was thinking or tapping my toes. It just kind of built from there.

Now I can do almost 5 minutes of exercise without huffing and puffing.

You can too! Just start small and work your way up.

A good way to get started on exercise is to take it a little at a time. 10 minutes of exercise 3 times a day is still 30 minutes no matter how you look at it. Be sure and drink a full glass of water before you exercise and afterwards.

I walked 2.5 miles today (10 minutes at a time) and also biked 8.5 (10 minutes at a time).

You can do it. Just set managable goals - 10 minutes every hour then add up your total at the end of the day.

Hi and welcome to sp and the Country living team. It is very often hard to start. It takes time to build good habits. You don't have to do it all at once. Just start making small changes and add to them gradually. Start exercising a little each day and work up to more. Before you know it, you will be on the right track. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. We're all here to help.

Excited to have found this site and more excited to get started. I need all the support I can get and would love to be supportive to others. My goal is to lose 120lb in a year. I've been having some motivational problems. Does anyone else find getting started to be the hardest part?
