Welcome Sage, I think you will enjoy sp as well as the people here. Feel free to ask any questions.

Walking and hiking are good forms of exercise. I got my exercise this morning by helping to walk many of our beef cattle home to the pens. I'm sure I walked several miles at least-could be classified as hiking, since it was in the pastures.

Hi Sage.
Nice to meet you, albeit on-line.....
I am on the other side of Canada on Vancouver Island and also like hiking a lot. I have a very active Australian Shepherd that gets me out there every day and he is the best motivator going. I had him out camping last weekend (the long weekend) and we were on the Trans-Canada trail....it was beautiful.
For myself I guess the best motivator is actually my health. I have to eat healthy as my own body attacks my liver so need extra protein and unprocessed foods. That can be challenging sometimes and I need to keep my weight in check to make it all function properly.
This is a great website which was recommended to me by a nutritionist that works at our local hospital. You cannot get a better reference than that!
I wish you the best success in your journey of weight loss and remember patience is everything, you didn't gain it instantly and you won't loose it instantly (at least not in a healthy way).

Hi
I am Sage, a down home country girl from the Atlantic coast of Canada. I am a professional chef. So I am surrounded food all of the time and I am trying to lose 30 lbs. My hobbies including scrapbooking, reading, playing guitar and when I get home fishing, cos there is no really great fishing hole where I live at the moment. I also enjoy hiking and there are a couple really nice trails down here.

I am looking for some friends and support on this journey, to help me stay on track.
I am looking forward to meeting all of you.
