My son weaned himself a week or two after he turned 1. My daughter still nurses from time to time, she is almost 18 months. My son was such an easy baby to BF, my daughter is rough! I will miss feeding her as I did with him, but some times I wish she would wean. I am so tired of the pain (sometimes its not so bad, other times its beyond awful). I never thought I would, but I have limited her feeding. She is just so rough sometimes! She only feeds in the morning, when I get home from work if I can bare it and before bed. If she is sick I will allow her to feed at different times. Most of the time she only asks at those times anyways. I feel bad for limiting her when she does ask at other times! If I had her first I may have had second thoughts about BFing my second child.! Ok probably not, I am super passionate about BFing I just wish it would have been easier this time around.

Congrats Mama for going so strongly. *hugs* It can be rough to emotionally handle the wean.

We made it 34 months and we were down to just naptime and bedtime. He had gone several days last summer without nursing but would always come back to it. The quitting and restarting was kind of creating havoc with my hormones. When he didn't nurse for 10 days during our vacation last month I decided it might be time to quit. He asked a couple times after we were home and back to our usual routine, but I told him milky was all gone. He was a little sad but seemed to get over it pretty quickly. The hardest part has been getting him to nap without having that to settle him down first.

This is likely our one and only child, so I'm a little sad that my nursing days are over. I'm also sad to pass another milestone that my baby is growing up. sniff sniff. It really does go too fast.
